New Materials & Processes

If you’ve ever seen Finland’s icebound coastline during the winter, you probably won’t be surprised to know that companies here have become very good at designing, building, and powering ships capable of navigating through the thickest ice. They’ve also built some of the world’s largest cruise liners sailing the balmy Caribbean. Finland’s engineering, materials, and logistics know-how goes much further than the marine world, of course, and extends all the way to the latest in welding systems, composites, lasers, and nanomaterials.
